SURPRISE! Officially announcing my newest little addition on the blog: Scout!
I have wanted a golden retriever for sooooo long. I’ve saved up for the vet appointments, ordered toys, basically I’ve been nesting for a pup. I had done a lot of research on good breeders within Georgia and a family friend suggested Fork in the Road Kennels. The proceeds from each dog go toward academic scholarships in their son’s name. (Their story is a tragic but amazing one – highly recommend reading more of their story if interested). If you’re also looking for a Golden Retriever, Labradoodle, Golden Doodle or maybe an English Cream Golden, I highly recommend this breeder. This is in no way sponsored, I just love this whole family and that they treat every puppy like their own. I will say their waitlist is long but it’s so worth it!
Health of puppies from breeders (or anywhere really) can be a big question for someone looking to adopt so I just wanted to share my experience. When I picked Scout up, Donna had all her deworming and vaccination records at the ready as well as her registration forms. Such an easy process! When I took Scout to the vet for the first time, her vet checked her over and said “I’ve honestly never seen a perfect golden retriever until now. No issues, no ear problems, no joint issues that I can see. I don’t know where you got her from but she’s perfect and so healthy.” I love knowing she was well taken care of, even before I brought her home. 🙂
Here are some items I grabbed for her that have made puppy life (aka potty training, teething, training), SO much easier! (Please note: I do make a small commission on each item linked below).
And yes… she does have an Instagram: @staygoldscoutie
