Hi friends! Long time, no talk! 🙂

Fall is one of my favorite times of the year. It kicks off all the fun activities and the start of the holidays ( + the weather is finally not 100 degrees in Georgia)! Fall is the best time to hang out with friends (in my opinion) but sometimes it’s hard to come up with things for us all to do that doesn’t cost a lot and we just always end up going out to eat somewhere. All that said, I have compiled a list and some ideas for your next evening in with friends (see my reel on Instagram for a sneak peek). Let me know if you try any of these out!
- Pumpkin Painting/Carving and Wine Night: I did this last year at a friend’s house and it was so much fun! Everyone’s pumpkins turned out so cute. They made snacks like chocolate covered pretzels, pigs in a blanket, pumpkin cookies, charcuterie and spinach artichoke dip. You can have everybody bring their favorite wine to share or give everybody a type to bring. So easy to do and perfect for a rainy fall evening! Throw on Halloweentown or Hocus Pocus for a little extra festivity!
- Paint and Sip Party: I recommend this set from Amazon – Pour some wine and start painting! I’ve done this with some friends and it was so funny and chill. I usually put on a jazzy fall playlist or a show to have on in the background. Position people across from each other to paint each other or if you want them to paint something you can have an easel set up with some inspo.
- Girl Dinner Party: You can ask guests to bring a board (buttercream board, dessert board, charcuterie board, veggie board, etc), it’ll be a little something for every palate and will be a great girl dinner! Serve with your favorite wine, Diet Coke, etc. TV Show/Movie Recommendations: You’ve Got Mail, Gilmore Girls, Practical Magic, When Harry Met Sally, Twilight, Sweet Home Alabama
- Mocktail/Cocktail Making Class + Charcuterie: Find your favorite Espresso Martini recipe or new mocktail to try, make a Cheese Gal couch snack , or enjoy some traditional charcuterie! It’s sure to be a fun night with your favorite people.
- Book Club: Pick a new book to read and chat about over a glass of wine!
- Supper Club: Every Friday night, pick someone’s house to eat at – can be a potluck or true dinner party style event. These always make for a fun time and are easy hosting opportunities.
- Powerpoint Night: Get out the old Google Slides or Microsoft Powerpoint and make a presentation all your own! This is so much fun and everyone can have a different topic for the evening. Some ideas for this: Things I Like But Nobody Else Does, Each Friend’s Starter Pack, Trends I Regret Participating In, Things That Make Me Anxious That I Don’t Want to Elaborate On, Things I Learned From Tiktok, Friends as the Cast of Gilmore Girls (or *Insert TV Show Here*), Types of Guys My Friends Would Be, Types of Guys My Friends Date, My Friends as Disney Characters, My Friends As Flowers, My Friends If They Were Dogs/Cats, My Friends As Alcohol, My Friends’ Aesthetics, etc etc etc
- Outdoor Movie Night: Grab some blankets, air mattresses, pillows, fill inflatable pools with blankets/pillows etc and have a fun outdoor movie night! I recommend this outdoor screen! We did this for friends’ birthday and it was such a sweet time. We had popcorn, candy boxes, gummies, soda, and all your movie theater classics. Some people brought chairs, some people just hung out on the blankets but everyone enjoyed it. Throw on Netflix, Disney+, Peacock, Amazon Prime or a dvd. Some movies I recommend: Practical Magic, You’ve Got Mail, Princess Bride, Sweet Home Alabama
- You’ve Got Mail Theme Night: Host a fun evening with all things You’ve Got Mail! Get a bouquet of daisies or sharpened pencils (if you know, you know) as your centerpiece! Starbucks cups, heavy hors deurves, and some [cowboy?] caviar are sure to bring so much fun to your event. Put on your best Kathleen Kelly-inspired outfit and have fun (without going to the mattresses)! Bonus points, if you have a Golden Retriever named Brinkley! // Theme nights of any kind can be so fun if all of you love the same things!
Let me know if you make any of these happen! Tag me on Instagram – would love to see! <3
