Hi friends! I haven’t posted in a minute but the other night I went out to dinner in Peachtree City with some friends and it was so refreshing. I’m an extrovert by nature so quality friend time always reenergizes me even if I’m completely exhausted from my week.
First of all, if you’re ever in Peachtree City and want a cute/good place to eat and chill for a little while, try Positano’s Pizza Napoletana . (Highly recommend the Margherita pizza, Chocolate + Hazelnut Gelato, and of course, the Espresso Martini). Our bartender was super nice and his cocktails looked so pretty that no one wanted to drink it and mess it up! **10/10** If you’re about the gluten free life like my friend Abby, they also have a really good gluten free crust that does not taste like cardboard #promise.
I posted a photo of it on my Instagram Stories and got a TON of questions so I figured I’d just drop a recipe on my blog for y’all. 🙂
As the holidays creep up on us, I wanted just a fun post that you can try out with friends around the table for friendsgiving or just for a fun Christmas cocktail. If you try this recipe out, be sure to tag me on Instagram!
So without further ado….the Espresso Martini Recipe:
What You’ll Need:
- Espresso Coffee
- Coffee Liquor (I’m personally a fan of Kahlua but you can use whatever)
- Vodka of choice
- Ice
- Pitcher/Bowl to cool the coffee in
- Cocktail Shaker
- Martini Glasses
- Simple Syrup (if you’re not big on the taste of coffee)
- Coffee Beans (Garnish)
How to Fix:
- Brew your espresso coffee and pour into a bowl or a pitcher so it can cool (I’d probably throw it in the fridge from there for about 5 mins)
- Fill your cocktail shaker with ice, cooled coffee (be sure it’s cooled completely or else there’s no point in the ice), vodka and (simple syrup if you want).
- Usually I will stir these together in the shaker and then pour in the Kahlua. It can be as strong or as weak as you want (I don’t go for strong drinks so I do like half a shot of vodka + half a shot of Kahlua)
- Once you have as much Kahlua in there as you want, shake it in your cocktail shaker as hard as you can for a couple of minutes (that’s how you get the good foam on top)
- Strain the mix into martini glasses
- Top with 3 coffee beans
- Serve and enjoy!
